Like Frozen Synapse, Frozen Cortex is a turn-based tactics affair in which everybody's turns play out at once. You decide on your move at your own leisure, you position your pieces, you hesitate, you commit, and then the beautiful mess you've created unfolds - your actions, your opponent's actions, the whole hilarious disaster. It's a double-blind kind of deal, I think, and the fun of this approach comes from adaptation and anticipation. It's surprisingly tense, and surprisingly involving. It cuts right to the heart of strategy gaming.

Guilty Gear Xrd

The Guilty Gear series has never quite taken off like Capcom's top fighters. Its mish-mash of mechanics is often seen as a deterrent to new fans, therefore too is the rougher, heavy metal twist to its universe - filled as it is by vampires, anchor-wielding pirates, and doctors with giant scalpels. But right after spending most of the last age group on mute, there's a tremor of a real return in Guilty Gear Xrd's PS4 release.

Mario Party 10 review

For a game that has no pressing reason to be, Mario Party 10 makes a decent fist of justifying its existence. It still suffers from many of the same problems as its predecessors -inconsistency and repetition, outrageously underhand CPU opponents - but developer Nd Cube has at least attempted to inject some fresh ideas into a series that, as recently as two games ago, was beginning to feel well past its sell-by date.

Destiny has more than 16 million users

Destiny has more than 16 million registered users to date, Activision announced in a new earnings report.

While that doesn't exactly cover sales (as multiple folks in the same household can play from the same disc), it does give us a rough idea as to its success. The publisher also noted that it was the top-selling new IP in video game history.

Comparatively, Hearthstone has more than 25 million registered players.
